Bandcampの従業員の半数が最近発表された音楽ライセンスプラットフォームのSongtradrの買収に伴い、10月17日にレイオフ（一時解雇）となったことがわかった。
BandcampのシニアエディターだったJJ Skolnikは、10月17日にBandcampの従業員の半数がレイオフされたことをSNSで報告している。

Mixmagによると、SongtradrはBandcampの従業員の半数に対し、雇用の継続を提案。一方、退社する従業員は以前の親会社であるEpic Gamesから退職金を受け取ることになるという。
またSongtradrは、既存のBandcampの人気サービスである「Bandcamp Daily」や「Bandcamp Friday」については、継続を約束するとしている。
